a rabbit reflects on their devotion to their one sided relationship with their crush.

rabbit, the protagonist of the film, recounts memories and thoughts they had with or about their crush. the film starts with the rabbit's hopes for their relationship with their crush. when their crush tells them they are in love with somebody else, rabbit realizes that their feelings were one sided. rabbit spends the rest of the film coming to terms with the fact that their feelings are one sided and their relationship wasn't as close as they thought.

as i approached the end of college, i wanted to make a project to bring closure to a long term one sided crush i had with somebody. i took a diary entry about this person and gave it to my characters to experience in their fictional world.
this film plays around with combining physical and digital materials together. i animate with and on many things from my everyday life, such as receipts, oranges, and trash.
this film was bittersweet to work on. it was fun to mash different materials together but it was sad to draw my rabbits dying and heartbroken. i hope people are able to relate to this and that it can bring them closure with their one sided relationships as well.

asia rabago

asia rabago is a chicago based animator and thing-maker.
she makes work about love, longing, loneliness, being a loser, and laughing out loud :). she likes making silly little guys and she is a silly little guy.
she received a bfa with a focus in film, video, new media, and animation from the school of the art institute of chicago in 2023.
